Accidents happen — we know. Here’s an option available to you for those checking account “oops” moments.

You can opt in to receive full overdraft privilege on all types of transactions from your TRUE Community Credit Union checking account. This benefit provides automatic overdraft protection to avoid embarrassment, take care of an emergency, or withdraw funds when you need them most.

Overdraft privilege is standard with online payments and pre-authorized automatic debits. However, you must opt-in if you would like to extend this protection to ATM withdrawals and everyday debit card transactions.

We will charge our normal non-sufficient funds or overdraft charge, as set forth in our fee schedules (currently $30 per item), for each item that would create an overdraft on your account. You must bring the account to a positive balance at least once every thirty days or less.  Whether your overdrafts will be paid or not is at our sole discretion and we reserve the right not to pay. For example, we typically do not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing, or if you have too many overdrafts. We are not promising to pay your overdrafts, not all accounts are eligible, and some restrictions do apply.

Alternatives

You may also choose an alternative to this overdraft privilege program. You can link a TRUE Community Credit Union savings account to your checking account. If sufficient funds are in your savings account, we will automatically transfer the funds to cover the overdraft. There will be a $5 fee per transfer.

You may also establish a line of credit that is automatically activated to cover any overdrafts. The balance of this credit line would then accrue interest until you pay off the balance.
